Giorgi Vashadze: After the resolution of the European Parliament, we faced the harshest reality - in fact, all the works that the Georgian people of different generations have are being thrown into the water

We faced the harshest reality after the resolution of the European Parliament - in fact, all the works that the Georgian people, of different generations have, are being thrown into the water, - the Chairman of "Strategy Agmashenebeli", Giorgi Vashadze, said at the briefing.

He addressed "Georgian Dream" and said that all is not lost and there is still a chance to withdraw the law and "avoid the worst situation in terms of foreign policy".

"The Russian law and the European Union are incompatible for the European Union, we are speaking directly. The second important issue is that if the discussion of this law continues, the talk of integration into the European Union will stop altogether, and more seriously, what is being talked about is that visa-free travel and many of the things we have achieved in relation to the European Union may be threatened.

Therefore, I would like to appeal to the representatives of "Georgian Dream" once again: all is not lost yet, there is still a chance that you will urgently withdraw this law and at least this most difficult situation from the point of view of foreign policy, which is now standing and where Georgia It turned out to be avoided. Do you see that the Russian law and the European Union are incompatible with each other, what are you telling your children, family members, our history, present and future that you have done? Did you choose a path that is not the choice of the Georgian people? That you went against the will of Georgian citizens? Think, people, just think about what this person, known as Ivanishvili Bidzina, will force you and do to you. Just think about the state you are putting the country in, think about tomorrow and the day after that, will you be ashamed to go out on the streets or will you continue to serve like this?! Believe me, there is really no shame in retreating in this case. I will come and shake everyone's hand, and I will thank those who will do it, because today the interests of our motherland are actually in front of our eyes.

I want to appeal to the public: my friends, today more than ever, we must all be united. We must stand together for Georgia to become a member of the European Union. Today, the European Union should see the aid of Georgia, the billions, how it should be distributed, which is waiting for the village, city, young or older, in order to develop the economy, but unfortunately, the Russian law of the enemy of Russia has given us a completely different reality. Therefore, there is strength in unity! As many people as possible should be together", said Giorgi Vashadze.

For information, the European Parliament approved the resolution "On efforts to reintroduce the law of foreign agents in Georgia and its restrictions on civil society" with amendments.

With what amendments the resolution was finally adopted, it is not yet known, since the European Parliament has not published the relevant information on its website, although the draft resolution stated that the draft law on "foreign agents" is against the values and democratic principles of the European Union, against Georgia's ambitions of membership in the European Union, and harms Georgia's international reputation. and endangers the country's Euro-Atlantic aspirations. Also, the document mentions that the negotiations on Georgia's accession to the European Union should not be opened until the said draft law is part of the country's legal order. In addition, according to the available information, the resolution adopted by the European Parliament talks about the revision of the visa-free regime and the request to sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili.
