Irakli Zarkua: Yesterday we how some MEPs trying to make the European Parliament lose the value that the European Union has - what we saw yesterday is what Europe and the European Parliament should not be like

Yesterday, we once again heard how some European parliamentarians, lobbyists of the party of torturers - National Movement - are trying to make the European Parliament lose the value that the European Union has - what we saw yesterday is what Europe and the European Parliament should not be like, - majority deputy Irakli Zarkua told journalists.

According to Zarkua, in the form of MEPs, they saw the statement of the National Movement lobbyists.

"Yesterday, we once again heard how some European parliamentarians, lobbyists of the party of torturers - National Movement - are trying to make the European Parliament lose the value that the European Union has. There is a reasonable suspicion that they received a new message yesterday, it was probably written and everyone was reading it. As we saw earlier, lobbying companies are writing letters for them. Kubilius, Fotyga, etc., one after another, try to insult the Georgian state. Our work situation is to adopt laws that are in the interests of our country, and because of that we are criticized and sanctions are also being considered. What we saw yesterday is what Europe and the European Parliament should not be like,” said Zarkua.

During the conversation on the same topic, Irakli Zarkua appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Lithuanian ambassador and demand an answer to the insulting statements made by their MEP towards the Georgian law enforcement officer.

"I would like to ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Lithuanian ambassador and specifically demand an answer to the insulting statements made by their MEP about our law enforcement officers. It seems that he couldn't read what was written - he got the name wrong, but we understood what he was talking about", - said Irakli Zarkua.

For information, Petras Auštrevičius appealed to the institutions of the European Union to introduce sanctions against Zviad Kharebashvili and Vazha Siradze, because according to him, these people are acting against the will of the Georgian people.
