Is Georgia under the threat of Islamic extremism?
"The terrorist group “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria”(ISIS) has posted a new map in its micro blog twitter; the map shows all countries across the world, which they plan to subject to a complete reformation -- a reformed country will allegedly be based on Sharia law. On the new Islamic map, you can see the entire Caucasus including Georgia. As the Georgian experts claim, political Islam is grabbing power, and this evidently jeopardizes our safety. However, head of the Parliament’s Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili, has defined the allegation saying that Muslims can pose lethal threats to us as ridiculous,” reports the Rezonansi gazette.
“Don’t be beguiled; don’t believe everything; they have declared a purely psychological and ideological war on us and don’t be deluded. Such types of maps have been spread thus far; this is nothing new. This is a strategic approach through the medium of which they want to wield their influence on the people. You probably guess that their plan is impracticable. However, this issue has triggered a backlash from the public – the alleged risks and pending dangers from Muslims have upset our people. However I want to pacify them by boldly stating that our security system can cope with any kind of challenge. We are on top of the current developments and are completely ready to take effective measures. I cannot openly talk regarding this issue though. We’d better handle it with kid gloves,” contends Irakli Sesiashvili.
"As a matter of fact, on that map, they have marked the entire Caucasus, front and central Asia including Turkey as well as North and Central Africa, Balkans States, the Crimea peninsula, Spain and Portugal. Al-Qaida, a political and ideological adversary of ISIS, outlined similar plans in the 1990s; however, the military actions they have carried out thus far really cannot be viewed as successful. As for ISIS, it has subjugated approximately a third of Syria’s land and has leveled Iraq’s Army (that was trained by Americans) to the ground. Plus, ISIS has exercised its control on some territory of Iraq and Syria by installing Khalifah Abu Bakr Al-Baghdad in power. In Iraq, the organization aims to form a state which will be founded on Sharia law and which will incorporate some territories of Syria,” the article says.
“The terrorist organization “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” that serves as a main shelter for rebel Sunnis from Iraq was created in 2006 as the Chief affiliated organization of Al-Qaida in Iraq and Syria. The military commander of the Syrian wing of the organization is Tarkhan Batirashvili also known as Abu Omar Al-Shishan. As we have learned through the grapevine, the unit includes about 10 or 15 thousand very well trained soldiers whose key source of income are Arabian states of Persian bay including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait as well as some tycoons. The terrorist group kicked off a rebellion in Iraq in the beginning of June and took over some large cities. Their final target is Baghdad. As for the International Community, it has blown hot and cold on this issue and has not decided yet how to block the Muslims from realizing their plan,” writes the author of the article.
“Mastera’s” deeds
"The Georgian side has already submitted a report to Holland on extraditing the so-called “Mastera back to his native land.” Former high official Gia Dgebuadze also known as “Mastera” is being kept in custody in this country. In Georgia, he faces torture charges as well as different charges in relation to the Navtlughi Special operation during which several young men were shot; along with Data Akhalaia, “Mastera” departed from Georgia in October, 2012 and has been at large ever since,” reports the Rezonansi gazette.
"The Prosecutor’s Office has issued a statement with regard to “Mastera’s” case. The statement reads as follows: “the investigation into Giorgi Dgebaudze’s case has been wrapped up. Mastera has been accused of influence-peddling, illegal restriction of freedom, and torture. Since 15 September, 2010, Giorgi Dgebaudze has served as head of the Chief Division of Military Police Department of Georgia’s armed forces. On January 4, 2011, T.A., one of the supervisors, of special operation forces of Georgia’s Defense Ministry informed his head Jemal Dzlierashvili that he was in touch with the Russian military top brass officials with whom he served in Ukraine’s army under the SU. Having been informed about this fact, they smelled a rat in the situation and in order to elucidate the issue, they took this man to the Military Police Special activities Main Division of the Joint Staff of Georgia’s Defense Ministry, where Head of the Chief Division of the same department, Giorgi Dgebuadze, mandated his subordinates, Lasha Mindadze and Platon Sulukhia, to wring the information out of T.A. regarding the Russian Special service employees by hook or by crook. Head of the Main pision of the department, Lasha Mindadze, put handcuffs on T.A. and did not allow him to move for several hours. At the same time, he threatened the hapless man that he would spread his discrediting photos showing the scenes of his alleged rape if he refused to admit to his alleged cooperation with the Russian Special Service officials. He also berated and verbally and physically abused his victim along with some people whose names have not been uncovered thus far… T.A. was illegally kept in custody and was insulted and tortured from January 4, 2011 to January 8, 2011,” says the statement from the body.
“The so called “Mastera” is also presumed as chief offender in the Navtlughi special operation, during which he, allegedly, murdered two young men with his bare hands. Mr. Dgebuadze is also a chief protagonist in the murder cases of the late ranger, Davit Tsindeliani as well as a spy of Defense Minister, Paata Kardava and a spy from Batumi, Roin Shavadze. On top of that, this person was allegedly involved in the prison riot case of 2006. “Mastera” hobnobbed with the Akhalaias and he has been defined as Mr. Akhalaia’s right hand,” the article says.
“Businessman Mindia Kashabidze incriminated Mr. Dgebuadze as early as in last year. “In 2008, “Mastera” tortured me and urged me to transfer 100 thousand GEL to the National’ budget. I refused… Soon they illegally fined my company 300 thousand GEL and instituted a case against me. In those days, I was in Oslo and held back from returning to my homeland as I was very well aware of the fact that as soon as I entered my country, they would have jailed me,” declares Mr. Kashabadze, who has charged “Mastera” of piling pressure on him,” reads the paper.
It’s obvious that Gigi Ugulava has stooped to performing dastardly deeds – Aleko Elisashvili
"Incontestable is the fact that they channeled our money into their pockets,” maintains a newly elected member of City Hall, majoritarian deputy, Aleko Elisashvili, and asserts that the “City Park” Company has looted drivers for years to finance the National Movement,” reports the Rezonansi gazette.
“I fall short of the information regarding the schemes Ugulava has hatched for years. It’s an actual fact that he has stooped to performing dastardly deeds though. I can also pass detailed information in terms of the misdeeds the City Park officials have committed. Instead of tackling parking issues in the city, this company pillaged our drivers; this was its key task. And most importantly, the deal negotiated with the Company has been shrouded by mystery thus far. How can similar contracts be kept under wraps? It’s obvious that this fact entitles our city with the right to revoke all contracts with this corrupt company. I personally have set this objective which I will achieve whatever it takes,” contends Mr. Elisashvili.
“I am deeply convinced that City Park has financed “corruption passions” of the National Movement as well as Gigi Ugulava, who has always enjoyed a luxurious life at our expense. Incontrovertible is the fact that for years they looted us to sate their voracious appetite. What has City Park done for the benefit of our country? It has only marked asphalt. That’s all. That is why I do claim that the contract with this company must definitely be terminated,” alleges the majoritarian deputy.
“As for the necessity of handling the parking issue, first of all, we must draw up a well-formulated plan to materialize this intention. In any country across the world, this issue is directly linked to the development of public transport. Along with providing our people with available, ecologically friendly and fast transport, we must get down to tackling the parking issue. We must also reduce the number of vehicle and build parking lots. These three issues are interlinked with one another,” concludes the respondent.
