Human rights defender Nana Kakabadze gives an interview to “Akhali Taoba”. The Article is titled “US seeks Saakashvili’s substitute amongst the National Movement. Who should help the Opposition to change power”. Kakabadze states that she sees no real force amongst the Oppositional forces so far. Whether there are elections or a revolution, it won’t matter – government will take advantage in both cases. There is  a proper force in Georgian society to change power in the country actually. The key problem is that the society don’t trust the Opposition and are disappointed with their inefficiency. In 2003 Saakashvili had that real power. Thst’s why he was able to become the President. He was supported by the West. The Western support is for anybody who is strong. There is no such strong force in Georgian Opposition nowadays. That is the reason why US seeks the substitute amongst the ruling party members.

Every Georgian politician knows that the power transit will happen only if there is a relevant agreement  between the two superpowers. West’s suppoort only isn’t sufficient for that.

Thus, the Opposition needs society’s trust first of all and then they should be supported by these super States in order to come to power. 

Sopo Khorguani: “Georgian Party” won’t ever stand by provocateur Nino Burjanadze”

One of the Leaders of “Georgian Party” Sopo Khorguani gives an interview with “Versia” stating that she doesn’t closely follow  People’s Assembly activities. She respects some of the members of the Gathering. However, she views Nino Burjanadze to be a mere provocateur. She says “Georgian Party” makes its separate efforts to be with public, work together with them and form a relevant force to come to power. Khorguani states that the Party has public support and they will be able to win the elections. They don’t want any blood shed in the country unlike the government officials, she says. According to Khorguani, Saakshvili will lose elections against Gachechiladze as far as they have more public support.  She excludes any type of cosultations with Nino Burjanadze’s party.

Russian-Abkhazian territorial dispute – occupants are going to take control of 160 sq/km land in Gagra district

“Resonance” publishes an article titled “Territorial dispute to stir up between Russia and the Abkhaz – 160 sq/km for “new Las vegas” The Article provides the allegations released by Abkhazian Opposition media, stating that Russia is striving to get hold of Abkhazian lands. Specifically, it refers to 160 sq/km plot in Gagra that may be officially recognized as Russian territory. Discussions on the topic have become more intense as the “Abkhazian-Russian border” Demarcation-Delimitation Committee sitting is approaching. All the related data remains secret by the claim of Russian side until the “Agreement” has been officially signed. The disputable territory isn’t completely identified either.

Expert on Caucasian issues Mamuka Areshidze states that the territories being talked about have been sometimes under Russian control, sometimes under Abkhazian one. According to the representative of Abkhazian legitimate government Besik Silagadze, whatever the document is signed by Russia-Abkhazeti, it won’t have any international legal value. According to Abkhazeti-issued “New Day”, the information has been released that 160 sq/km land across Psou river in Gagra district is going to become Russia’s possession.

According to one of the versions tegarding the diputable territories, Russian government want to take control till Ritsa lake in order to “build a new Las Vegas” for the gusets of Sochi Olympics.
