Irakli Chkhvirkia, convicted in the "October 4th case," released from prison

Irakli Chkhvirkia, one of the individuals convicted in connection with the October 4th protest, has left the Gldani penitentiary institution. He was released based on a plea agreement.
"I would be much happier if something better awaited me on the outside; however, given the current situation, the mere fact that I have managed to escape prison does not really give me grounds for happiness," stated Irakli Chkhvirkia.
The Prosecutor's Office had charged Irakli Chkhvirkia with attempting to seize facilities of special importance as part of a group, as well as participating in organized group violence. The City Court had sentenced him to five years in prison in connection with this case. Under the terms of the plea agreement, his actual term of imprisonment was set at one year and one month, while the remaining two years will be served as a suspended sentence.
