Badri Japaridze: There is complete alignment between representatives of society and us that the process of banning parties is directed against the free world - If the court formalizes what "Dream" desires, the state will suffer irreparable harm

"If the Constitutional Court formalizes what 'Georgian Dream' desires, our state and every single one of our citizens will suffer irreparable harm," stated Badri Japaridze, leader of "Lelo - Strong Georgia," after a meeting held between the leaders of "Strong Georgia - Lelo" and representatives of expert circles, where the process of banning political parties was discussed.
According to Japaridze, everyone must try together to ensure that "irreparable consequences do not occur for each of our citizens."
"The meeting served the purpose of hearing views from representatives of our society regarding the process that took place last week in Batumi, at the Constitutional Court. There is complete alignment between representatives of society and us that this process is not merely directed against banning parties; it is a process directed against the Western, free world, as well as against those parties that want to see Georgia in the European family. This process is directed against that vast majority of society that wants Georgia to be in the European family, wants Georgia to be a sovereign, strong state, and a state full of prosperity. This process is directed right against this society.
The consequences of this process already carry an enormous negative impact on our country. If the Constitutional Court formalizes what 'Georgian Dream' desires, our state and every single one of our citizens will suffer irreparable harm!
The lawsuit filed by 'Georgian Dream' has nothing to do with law.
Therefore, our task now is for all of us to try together to prevent irreparable consequences from occurring for our country, for our state, for our independence, and for each of our citizens," Badri Japaridze noted.
