According to their statement, the content of the report should serve as an alarm signal for every citizen of Georgia, regardless of party affiliation, and for everyone who sees our country's future in the European Union.

"The report notes that Georgia's EU accession process is effectively halted, and the European Commission's evaluation of Georgia as a candidate country remains in force only formally. Ivanishvili's regime is not fulfilling the recommendations specified by the European Commission, as the ruling party continues to undermine democratic principles, the rule of law, fundamental human rights, and civil liberties, as well as capturing the state.

According to the statement of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, due to the backtrack on democracy and violations of fundamental rights, 'Georgian Dream' is on a path of confrontation with the European Union, while the EU Commissioner for Enlargement states that enlargement policy can no longer be the central line of relations between the EU and Georgia.
