Five–six people need to be taken away and put to sleep today, they are in such a condition. They are people with an unhealthy psychology, – this was stated by the Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, in response to a question posed about the animal burial grounds and the public reaction to this.

According to Kaladze, every person who started digging up the burial grounds will have to answer.

“The [animal] agency is an organization that has come under the subordination of the municipality. I tell you with full responsibility that the agency works absolutely transparently, absolutely cleanly and serves the welfare of animals. Unfortunately, I also spoke about this yesterday; there are very many facts, I also cited statistics on how many animals died over the past year; to this is added euthanasia, also collisions with automobiles; all of this comes to us, to the agency, and we also have the corresponding service when we help animals.
