Shalva Papuashvili: Brussels is the supporter, financier and instigator of violence and perpetrators of violence in Georgia; will they say anything bad about themselves? – Violence returns home to the criminals whom they were inciting here

Brussels today is the supporter, financier and instigator of violence and perpetrators of violence in Georgia – what will Brussels say, that storming the presidential palace is bad? If it says that, then the European Commission’s press secretary must be dismissed, who expressed support for the 4 October overthrow gathering, – this was stated by Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili in connection with the events that developed in France.
According to him, the fact that Brussels calls the attempt to burn a person alive in France an attempted murder, while in the case of Georgia it refers to this as a just protest, is not a double standard but confirmation that behind the violence stand precisely those from whom Georgia expected the condemnation of violence.
“Will they say anything bad about themselves? What will Brussels say, that storming the presidential palace is bad? If it says that, then that press secretary must be dismissed who expressed support for the 4 October overthrow gathering – I mean the European Commission’s spokesperson. Will the EU embassy say that throwing a ‘Molotov cocktail’ is bad, when the EU ambassador say this, who himself pays those people and dances to their tune as they spread hatred and hostility in Georgia? They themselves are accomplices in this and that is why they do not condemn it. Not because they have different standards; they themselves are the instigators, financiers and subsequent coverers of this violence. This is how we must see it. This is a regrettable reality; we are in fact seeing that Brussels, various European capitals, were involved in the instigation and financing of this violence in Georgia, but we see that those who were trying to normalize violence in Georgia – the result of this is that it has become the norm in their countries. Whoever incites violence elsewhere ultimately receives violence against themselves. Violence returns home to the criminals whom they were inciting here.
We are dealing with criminals, be it the opposition, some of their protecting diplomats or some of their protecting capitals – this is one criminal side, of which Grigoriadis with his throwing of ‘Molotov cocktails’ was the instigated one. What need is there for Grigoriadis when today three people are serving sentences for throwing ‘Molotov cocktails’ during a violent protest and the EU representation in Georgia is demanding the release of these three people. Elsewhere they call it attempted murder and then the European Commission or other structures ask us to release those who committed attempted murder. Lazare Grigoriadis was at one time pardoned by Salome Zourabichvili and you remember that at that time they declared in Brussels that this had been agreed with them. The entire society knew nothing and they said that Salome Zourabichvili took the decision on the pardon by agreement with them. Brussels today is the supporter, financier and instigator of violence and perpetrators of violence in Georgia,” Papuashvili stated.
