Rati Bregadze: I am proud to have worked with Irakli Garibashvili; I do not wish to judge anyone—God is the judge of all

"Who might be aggrieved with whom—or who might not be—is a very personal matter. God is the judge of all, and I do not intend to discuss such matters, especially in public," stated former Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze. He was responding to a question about whether he harbors any resentment toward former Minister of Defence Juansher Burchuladze, who provided testimony against his friend, Irakli Garibashvili.
As he noted, God will judge everything.
"I do not wish to judge anyone; God is the judge of all, and, naturally, the court will adjudicate on all matters...
I came to visit my friend, whom I have missed dearly. I want to wish him strength, and I also hope that he will be able to return to his family very soon," Bregadze stated. When asked whether he believes his friend committed a corruption-related crime, he responded as follows:
"The court will deliberate on everything. What I can say is that I am truly proud to have had the opportunity to work alongside Irakli Gharibashvili; the court will address all other matters. This is a very emotional experience for me—naturally, I am subjective—but the court will decide on everything. I came to visit my friend; I wish him strength and hope that he will soon be able to return to his family," stated Bregadze.
When asked whether Mamuka Mdinaradze had "fabricated" this case against Irakli Gharibashvili, the former Minister of Justice replied that he does not make political statements.
"I am not involved in politics today; therefore, I am not making any political statements, as I have come here to visit a friend... The defense team should address all such matters. I saw my friend, but I am not in a position to make any kind of political statement," Bregadze declared.
