Ana Tsitlidze: When Georgian Dream speaks of systemic crimes, they should look at what they have done to Elene Khoshtaria - bringing Elene to this state is the direct responsibility of Georgian Dream

When Georgian Dream speaks of systemic crimes, they should look at what they have done to Elene Khoshtaria—bringing Elene to this state is the direct responsibility of Georgian Dream. This was stated by Ana Tsitlidze, a representative of the United National Movement.
According to her, this demonstrates that "there is nothing humane or human about Georgian Dream.”
"When Georgian Dream speaks of systemic crimes, they should look at what they have done to Elene Khoshtaria. Why is Elene Khoshtaria in prison at all? What did she do wrong? Is it because she wrote something on a banner with a marker? In other words, for Georgian Dream, a banner and a marker are more valuable than human health and human life. That is what it amounts to, because Elene Khoshtaria has done nothing else wrong. Elene Khoshtaria is not a criminal. This truly shows the lengths to which Georgian Dream is capable of going—it reveals that there is nothing humane or human left in them. Bringing Elene to this state is the direct responsibility of Georgian Dream," stated Ana Tsitlidze.
For context, Elene Khoshtaria, the leader of the Droa party—who is currently imprisoned—was transferred from the Rustavi women's prison to the Todua Clinic in Tbilisi.
The convicted politician was brought into the hospital in a wheelchair for a scheduled check-up.
Several months ago, Elene Khoshtaria, the leader of the Droa party, was initially transferred to the Vivamedi clinic due to a deterioration in her health. She was subsequently returned from that facility to the Rustavi women's prison on September 27.
As a reminder, Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the Droa party, was arrested by law enforcement on September 15, 2025, in connection with the damaging of an election banner belonging to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze. Elene Khoshtaria had written the words "Russian Dream" on Kaladze's election banner. The court imposed a bail of 5,000 GEL as a preventive measure; however, she refused to pay it.
Khoshtaria was charged under Article 187, Part 1, which pertains to the damaging of another person's property, resulting in significant damage. Judge Giorgi Arevadze found Khoshtaria guilty of damaging Kaladze's banner and sentenced her to one year and six months in prison.
