Nika Gvaramia: It is not just parties, but politics itself that is being abolished, and all avenues for change are being blocked - Tomorrow, at TSU's 1st Building, we begin a new and perhaps the most important phase of protest: "Georgia without Ivanishvili"

"After political parties are banned, all of us individually will be banned – such is the new law, and the Constitutional Court's dissolution of parties will practically automatically trigger this outcome. It is not just parties, but politics itself that is being abolished, and all avenues for change are being blocked," Nika Gvaramia, leader of the "Coalition for Change," writes on Facebook.
According to him, a new phase of protest begins tomorrow with a rally planned at the 1st Building of Tbilisi State University (TSU).
"After political parties are banned, all of us individually will be banned – such is the new law, and the Constitutional Court's dissolution of parties will practically automatically trigger this outcome. Yes, hundreds of thousands of people will no longer have the right to be in politics. And selectively at that – only those whom Bidzina decides. Yes, from now on, Ivanishvili will issue licenses to practice politics.
Do not confuse this with voter banning: a far greater number of people will either no longer be able to vote or will see no point in doing so, because their favorite parties simply will not be on the ballot. This already applies to up to a million and a half people in Georgia, if we sum up the voters of the opposition entities targeted for banning and the emigrants.
In addition to political leaders, active politicians, and activists, so-called 'associated persons' are also prohibited from participating in politics: an entirely undefined circle of individuals who could include, for example, all members of my family, even my minor children (who know Georgian excellently, Khotses [Georgian Dream supporters], no matter what disgraceful, scum-like things you write about them), my friends, anyone who has demanded my release, donated money to the party, or even made a supportive comment for me – and so on, without limit.
So, it is not just parties, but politics itself that is being abolished, and all avenues for change are being blocked.
Tomorrow, at 7, at TSU's 1st Building! We begin a new and perhaps the most important phase of protest:
Georgia without Ivanishvili!
P.S. When all channels of change are blocked, the river must be large enough to break through the dam. We must remember this," states Gvaramia.
