Giorgi Sioridze on the hearing regarding the lawsuit to ban political parties: The submission of motions will conclude today, and we will likely move on to the stage of providing explanations

The stage for submitting motions will conclude today. We will likely begin the stage of providing explanations, Giorgi Sioridze, a representative of Strong Georgia – Lelo, told journalists outside the Constitutional Court.
According to him, the goal of Georgian Dream is to remove the entire opposition spectrum from political life.
"The stage for submitting motions will conclude today. We will likely move on to the stage for presenting explanations. None of the motions submitted by any of the parties have been granted. It is clear what the true objective of Georgian Dream and Bidzina Ivanishvili is; this lawsuit and the entire process serve two purposes. The first is to ban the parties and remove the entire opposition spectrum from political life. The second—a hidden objective—stems from the fact that they lack a constitutional majority in Parliament; they now intend to use the Constitutional Court to mandate a policy of 'not provoking Russia' across the country—effectively making Russia’s harmful agenda a binding constitutional requirement.
We fully grasp the scale of the directive and the nature of the plan: for the Constitutional Court to provide an official seal of approval to Ivanishvili’s goals and schemes," noted Sioridze.
