Tamaz Elizbarashvili: I will say one thing to the seven guys from “Imedi”: do not be afraid of seeing me on the street, do not run to the police anymore and do not write a complaint saying “we were scared of seeing Elizbarashvili”

I will say one thing to those seven guys — do not be afraid of seeing me on the street. I do not intend to lock myself in the house and I will move around on the street, and when they see me, do not be afraid and do not run to the police anymore and do not write a complaint saying “we were scared of seeing Elizbarashvili,” — businessman Tamaz Elizbarashvili, who had been detained on charges of making threats, stated after his release.

According to him, he did indeed threaten the employees of the television company “Imedi.”

“I threatened those seven young men, employees of the television company ‘Imedi,’ who verbally insulted me in a restaurant while I was alone with my wife. Specifically, I told them: ‘I will leave my wife and come.’ I left my wife and went, but they were not there; they were afraid of me.

What do I need a weapon for? I tame dogs of that size, psychologically deranged dogs and mad dogs.

I walk around the city with my wife and children, and so that something similar would not be repeated again, seven men ‘worked me over’ for 15 minutes together with my wife, and I could not let them beat me there; I told them: ‘I will leave my wife and come.’ How is it now if seven drunk men are beating me in front of my wife. I left, left my wife, came, and they were no longer there.

I will say one thing to those seven guys — do not be afraid of seeing me on the street. I do not intend to lock myself in the house and I will move around on the street, and when they see me, do not be afraid and do not run to the police anymore and do not write a complaint saying ‘we were scared of seeing Elizbarashvili,’” Tamaz Elizbarashvili stated.

For information, Tamaz Elizbarashvili applied to the Prosecutor’s Office with a request to conclude a plea agreement and admitted the crime committed; he was released from the courtroom itself.

The businessman had been charged under the first part of Article 151 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies making threats.
