National Bank: We emphasize that Nana Keinishvili acted alone, a fact confirmed by an audio recording made by a company representative

The National Bank of Georgia once again addresses the issue of the alleged unlawful participation of NBG Board member Nana Keinishvili in entrepreneurial activities and "fully dissociates itself from the matter." This is stated in a statement issued by the National Bank.
“With this specific aim—and upholding the National Bank’s high reputational standards—the Board unanimously decided to recuse Nana Keinishvili from participating in the activities of the NBG Board until the investigation concludes and the objective truth is established.
We also wish to emphasize that Nana Keinishvili acted alone; this is corroborated by an audio recording made by a company representative, in which she speaks personally about her plans and objectives. Furthermore, the supervision of virtual asset service providers at the National Bank did not fall within Nana Keinishvili’s area of oversight; consequently, she could not have influenced the decision-making process in any way. The inspection process for any entity subject to NBG supervision is strictly confidential. Access to this information is restricted solely to the relevant team; no other individuals—including Board members—have access to it.
We also clarify that Nana Keinishvili was a non-executive member of the National Bank Board; as such, she did not participate in day-to-day executive management and held no operational management mandate," the National Bank states.
