The time has come for decisive and coordinated action against Ivanishvili and his assets. MEP Małgorzata Gosiewska stated during a European Parliament debate regarding Georgian Dream's attempts to ban opposition parties.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili is destroying democracy in Georgia and steering the country toward a Russian-style dictatorship. He has hijacked state institutions and the judiciary, persecutes the opposition, and seeks to ban opposition parties.

This is no longer merely a political crisis; it is an attempt to establish an oligarchic dictatorship. Mikheil Saakashvili—Georgia’s former president, who fought for his country’s European future and resisted Russian aggression—has fallen victim to this political vendetta; he is now imprisoned by those who wish to divert Georgia from its European path.

Let me state this loudly and clearly: release Mikheil Saakashvili and all other political prisoners immediately and unconditionally. Let me also say that we must move beyond mere condemnation; the time has come for decisive, coordinated action against Ivanishvili and his assets—and against the entire network of individuals upholding this system of repression.

Georgia belongs to the Georgian people, and its place is in Europe. We will not cede [Georgia] to Putin," stated Gosiewska.
