Prime Minister: As Europe faces challenges today, it is increasingly important to recognize that European civilization emerged from Christian morality - our path toward the European family is based on the very values that created this civilization

“Today, as the European space faces serious political, ideological, demographic and values-based challenges, it is increasingly important to recognize that European civilization emerged from Christian morality, the inviolability of human dignity and the ideals of freedom,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his address at the international conference “The Foundations of European Civilization and 1,700 Years of Christianity in Georgia.”
According to the Prime Minister, these are the solid foundations that define the identity of European nations and whose protection is more relevant today than ever.
“Our path toward the common European family is based precisely on the true values that created this great civilization. Georgia will continue firmly along this path in the future – we will preserve our traditions, spiritual identity and centuries-old heritage.
“I thank the organizers of the international conference, the Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, and our foreign guests for coming to Tbilisi. I am confident that the discussion will make an important contribution to strengthening our common European future and spiritual values.
“Once again, I congratulate you on this historic date – the 1,700th anniversary of Christianity in Georgia – and wish you fruitful work and success,” the Prime Minister said.
