Businessman Giorgi Chikvaidze starts a hunger strike

Businessman Giorgi Chikvaidze, who is accused of embezzling large sums of money, has begun a hunger strike.

This was stated in a letter sent by the businessman from prison.

"I will not accept being oppressed by this system! Starting today, I am going on a full hunger strike.

I will stand out in my principles once again, even if it costs me my life, I will do this for the love of my country," the letter from Giorgi Chikvaidze reads, which was provided to Radio Free Europe by his brother, Dimitri Chikvaidze.

Additionally, he addresses family members and friends:

"Everyone who remains silent is a participant in this process. Friends, do not stop. The fight continues until victory."
