The trial of eight individuals arrested during a protest on charges of organizing violence ended with chants of “Unjust Court” at Tbilisi City Court.
Today's hearing focused on the admissibility of evidence. It was during this session that the court was expected to determine whether the case would proceed to substantive review or if criminal prosecution would be terminated altogether.
After several hours of deliberation, Judge Davit Mgelashvili announced that the case would move to the substantive review stage, prompting outbursts from the defendants' relatives in the courtroom, who chanted “Unjust Court” and held banners that read “Unjust Judge, Fear Our Strength.”
