Runoff of the so-called elections to be held in occupied Abkhazia

A runoff of the so-called early presidential elections will take place in Russian-occupied Abkhazia, where Badra Gunba and Adgur Ardzinba will compete against each other.

The information was reported by Russian media, citing the so-called "Central Election Commission of Abkhazia."

"In any case, there will be a second round, in which Badra Gunba and Adgur Ardzinba will participate," said the chairman of the so-called "Central Election Commission," Dmitry Marshan, in a statement to journalists.

He also noted that the "preliminary results" would be announced later today.

The so-called presidential elections in occupied Abkhazia were held yesterday. Five so-called "candidates" competed: Badra Gunba, Adgur Ardzinba, Oleg Bartsits, Robert Arshba, and Adgur Khurkhumalia.

It is worth mentioning that yesterday, the EU spokesperson for foreign and security policy, Anouar El Annou, issued a statement emphasizing that the European Union does not recognize the constitutional and legal framework of the so-called presidential elections held in Georgia’s occupied region of Abkhazia.
