Citizens marching from Europe Square to Parliament, demanding appointment of new elections and release of prisoners

“Schedule new elections” and “Release prisoners” - with these demands, citizens are marching from Europe Square to the Parliament.
The march is being attended by citizens, politicians, as well as representatives of various sectors of society, including writers and poets.
The citizens attending the rally specially wrote letters to the prisoners who were detained by the police during the protests at the rallies.
The letters were placed in a special box, which read “Write a letter to a prisoner of the regime and bring it to Europe Square.
The citizens’ letters will then be sent to the prison.
The participants of the rally are holding banners with the inscriptions: “Mzia defends dignity - mine, yours and ours”, “No to oligarchs and authoritarianism from Georgia”, “Khorumi is here”.
Today is the 80th day of continuous protest. The protests in the capital and regions began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024, that the Georgian government had decided not to put the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028 - and also to refuse any budget grant from the European Union until the end of 2028.
