Grandparents marching on Rustaveli Avenue

A march of grandparents is being held on Rustaveli Avenue. They are marching towards the parliament building. They have blocked part of the road.

The participants of the rally are holding posters: “Grandma will never be called “Babushka”, “Freedom to the regime’s prisoners – our grandchildren”, “Guarding the European future of our grandchildren”.

As they say, they want Europe and what they could not do for their children’s generation, they must do for their grandchildren’s generation.

In addition, as one of the participants of the rally, Izolda Chumburidze, states, they are demanding new elections and the release of the detainees.

“The older generation has always been a symbol of wisdom. We, parents, grandparents, must be at the forefront of this. Today, anger has brought us out. Our message is that new elections should be held, prisoners should be released, our grandchildren should be released. This is what brought us here today," said Izolda Chumburidze.
