Ilia II: Everyone should separate themselves from violence, straining the situation threatens statehood! - In order to avoid unmanageable processes, it is most important to reach a dialogue

Every person - big or small, must separate from violence and realize that in our difficult times, the sharp tension of the situation poses a real threat to the main achievement of the country - statehood and sovereignty! - At the same time, in order to avoid unruly processes, it is most important to achieve a constructive dialogue, - it is mentioned in the statement of the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II, which is distributed by the Patriarchate of Georgia.

Also, the Patriarch gives blessings to the clergy working in Georgia and abroad to ring the bell every day at 13:00 and perform a prayer to the Most Holy Mother of God.

"My spiritual children, the recent events in the country clearly show that it is necessary for each of us to take care of peace. Every person - big or small - must separate themselves from violence and realize that in our difficult times, a sharp escalation of the situation poses a real threat to the main achievement of the country - statehood and sovereignty! And taking this into account, determine his steps.

At the same time, in order to avoid unmanageable processes, it is of the utmost importance that dialogue be achieved constructively.

Our problem today is that we do not understand how we are moving away from God and acting against his commandments; We forget that lack of love, cynicism, disrespect... which, unfortunately, has become a habit for part of our society, are destructive sins; (The manifestation of this is hate speech and physical retaliation).

We will not be able to solve any national task with mutual hatred, malice, bitterness... and we will only hurt ourselves and the state. Our Christianity ends where our love for our neighbor ends.

I have been praying for Georgia all my life. Even today, I will constantly ask the Lord to give us a wise and gentle heart.

We are all united by the love of the motherland; That's why I'm appealing to you: let's unite in prayer for the prosperity of Georgia, so that with God's grace and inner peace, we can take the right steps.

Joint prayers have great power. Our clerics working in Georgia and abroad are given a blessing to ring the bell every day at 13:00 and offer a supplication prayer to the Most Holy Mother of God, and we ask the parishioners in Georgia and abroad (along with the personal canon) to pray during the day: "Our Father", 90- Psalm E, "Open to us the door of mercy", "Rejoice, Virgin Mother of God" (3 times), also St. Andrew the Apostle, St. Nino, St. George and St. Tropers of Nicholas and finally "Save, Lord, your nation".

Georgia is an integral part of European civilization and it is our duty to promote the strengthening and development of a European-type national state based on our centuries-old Christian spiritual and cultural heritage and traditional values.

Today is the day of commemoration of the founder of the Church of Georgia, St. Andrew the First. It is also the day of commemoration of St. King Vakhtang Gorgasli, Peter I and Catholicos of Samoa I. Through the intercession of them and other patron saints of Georgia, and through the intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God, may God grant the unity, peace and prosperity of our country.

Praying for you, Ilia II - Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Bichvinti and Metropolitan of Tskhum-Abkhazia," the Patriarch's statement said.
