Maria Zakharova: The West wants to change the government in Georgia

The USA and the European Union want chaos in the Caucasus, to destabilize the situation, they want to change the government in Georgia, they want a government there that will work for the benefit of the West and not for Georgia or the Georgian people, - said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.

According to her, Brussels is threatening to punish Georgia because of the sovereign course, because the people voted in the elections as they thought was right and as they wanted.

"When they talk about Russian interference, it's a situation where the hat has visited the thief. They do this in order to cover up their own Western crimes," Zakharova said.

According to her, she is sure that "Georgian people will not be provoked and Georgia and Georgian people will be able to protect their identity".
