Today is the most important day in the history of Georgian football, I believe, the fight of our boys fills us with pride even and makes us say - we are here, we are Georgia! - the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, writes on the social network.

According to him, when we unite around a common goal, around a common aspiration, around the will to fight, with the belief in success, we can achieve victory and continue to develop.

"Today is the most important day in the history of Georgian football.

What will happen on the football field today is much more than football.

Today, we agree once again - when we unite around a common goal, around a common aspiration, around the will to fight, with the belief in success, we can achieve victory and continue to develop.

The history of our country is a proof of this. This attitude made our small country last for centuries and not only made it last, created a unique culture, history and gave an even greater future.

I believe, the fight of our boys fills us with pride even today and makes us say - we are here, we are Georgia!

Georgia, don't stop," Kaladze wrote on Facebook.

At Euro 2024, the Georgian football team will play against the Spanish national team today in the round of 16. The match will start at 23:00 Tbilisi time.
