Opportunity for educational support: Tbilisi City Hall opens applications for tuition funding

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has announced the commencement of applications for tuition funding under the Student Funding Program. From March 6th onwards, students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, large families, and those with disabilities can apply for financial assistance to cover tuition fees for the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.
In a bid to alleviate financial burdens and promote equal access to education, the Tbilisi government has launched the Student Funding Program, offering support to eligible students pursuing bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degrees. Mayor Kakha Kaladze revealed the details of the initiative, emphasizing its focus on assisting individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
"The funding amount will be determined based on the student's academic performance in the previous semester, with options for 50%, 70%, or 100% coverage, up to a maximum of 1125 GEL per semester," Mayor Kaladze explained, outlining the criteria for eligibility and funding allocation.
"Students enrolled in bachelor's, master's, or doctorate programs, and who are members of large families, registered as socially vulnerable, or have disabilities, are encouraged to apply. The application window will remain open until May 31st," Kaladze concluded.
