No presence of explosive device confirmed on Kutaisi-Barcelona flight

At the moment, the presence of an explosive device on the Kutaisi-Barcelona flight has not been confirmed, Irakli Karkashadze, head of the airport association said.

According to Irakli Karkashadze, investigative activities in the plane continue, as for the flight to Barcelona, it will take place at 19:00. Passengers are already in the departure lounge.

"According to the data of this time, the presence of an explosive substance on the aircraft has not been confirmed. We have completed the passenger check-in and they are located in the departure lounge, the said flight will take place today at 19:00. Kutaisi International Airport has fully returned to the normal rhythm of operations and we will continue to receive aircrafts. No other flights have had any delays regarding this particular aircraft. The relevant services are completing the procedures and I am sure they will make a statement themselves, although according to the information available to us, the notification received is not confirmed at this moment", - said Irakli Karkashadze.
