Mariam Kvrivishvili: Kutaisi International Airport will be served by a new parking lot for 700 cars

Kutaisi International Airport services have become even more comfortable for both local and international travelers. As of today, the new parking lot for 700 cars is already in operation, and by the end of the month, the renewed lighting system of the area will be fully operational. Our goal is for Kutaisi Airport to fully meet the best international service requirements, - said Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to her, the Kutaisi airport is one of the first objects that an international traveler sees upon arriving in the country, and it is important that it is met with the maximum service. In addition, tens of thousands of our citizens use the mentioned airport, and we must serve them with high quality.

"We are working on a long-term action plan for the development of Kutaisi airport, according to which our airport will not only be one of the fastest growing in Europe, but will also be able to offer the best international services to passengers. Last year, about 1.7 million passengers used this airport, and we expect this number to be much higher in 2024. Thus, it is vitally important that passengers are welcomed at the Kutaisi International Airport with maximum comfort," Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.

According to her, many more infrastructural projects are underway or will be implemented in the future at the airport.

According to the Ministry of Economy, several important infrastructural projects are also planned for Davit Agmashenebeli airport this year. Among them, the rehabilitation of the platform and the aircraft stand, as well as the construction of a new 3.5 km long runway will begin, which will enable the Kutaisi airport to receive and service all types of passenger and cargo aircraft in the future.
