Viktor Orban calls on the European Commission to remove the issue of Ukraine's accession from the agenda of the EU summit

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, sent a letter to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in which it is noted that the issues of Ukraine's accession to the EU and the allocation of 50 billion euros as aid to the country should be removed from the agenda of the planned EU summit, as they will fail anyway.

Critics claim that Orbán is trying to get Hungary to receive 27 billion euros of frozen aid with this threat.

The mentioned amount was frozen by Brussels due to the concern that exists in the bloc due to corruption in the country and the alleged misuse of European funding.

After Viktor Orbán threatened to block Ukraine's EU accession talks and aid issues, the European Commission has hinted that it may unblock 10 billion euros allocated to Budapest.

German MEP Daniel Freund calls on the European Union not to transfer money to Budapest before the necessary reforms are carried out.
