On the way to the European Union, Ukraine has achieved excellent results, said the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

"I must say that you have made excellent progress. We will confirm this next week when the European Commission presents its report on enlargement," said von der Leyen.

According to the President of the European Commission, the European Union was impressed by the reforms that Ukraine is carrying out in the middle of the war.

"We should not forget that you are fighting for your own existence and at the same time, you are carrying out large reforms in your own country. You are reforming the judicial system, fighting the influence of oligarchs, fighting money laundering...

"I know you are in the process of completing outstanding reforms. If this happens and, I am confident, Ukraine can reach its ambitious goal of moving to the next stage in the accession process," von der Leyen said.
