SSG: Representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally arrested two citizens of Georgia near the occupied village of Ghromi and village of Balaani

Representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally arrested two Georgian citizens near the occupied village of Ghromi and the village of Balaani (near the occupied Akhalgori). The information is disseminated by the State Security Service of Georgia.

According to SSG, upon receiving the information about the mentioned incident, the State Security Service activated the "hot line" operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission.

"Information about other facts of illegal detentions was immediately reported to the co-chairs of international discussions in Geneva and international partners.

All existing mechanisms for the release of illegally detained Georgian citizens have been activated.

The responsibility for all the destructive actions committed on the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line, rests with the occupying power," the SSG statement reads.
