Inal Ardzinba: We are developing a good dialogue with Belarus - if it recognizes us, it will be an important step to strengthen our statehood

The recognition of Abkhazia's independence by Belarus will be an important step for the strengthening of Abkhazia's statehood. According to "Sputnik", the so-called minister of foreign affairs of occupied Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, stated this at a meeting with the public in the Ochamchire region.
"We are developing a good dialogue with the Republic of Belarus. If Belarus recognizes us, it will be an important step to strengthen our statehood," Ardzinba said.
He also noted that recognition by Belarus will strengthen the image of Abkhazia. Ardzinba is convinced that it is important not to miss the chance to expand the international map.
For information, Alexander Lukashenko's first visit to occupied Abkhazia took place in September 2022. De facto president Aslan Bzhania said after the meeting that he has high hopes for the visit of the Belarusian leader to the "republic."
Bzhania paid a return "visit" to Belarus in February 2023.
