Bill Browder on Mikheil Saakashvili: This is politically motivated torture - those responsible should be subject to Magnitsky sanctions

Horrifying images of former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili emerging from a court hearing in Georgia today, Bill Browder, the author of "Magnitsky Act", writes on Twitter.

According to Browder, anyone who says he’s not being mistreated needs to look at these pictures.

"This is politically motivated torture. This man needs to be released immediately.

Georgia’s mistreatment of Mikheil Saakashvili is a shocking human rights abuse and those responsible should be subject to Magnitsky sanctions in all countries that have Magnitsky legislation," Browder tweeted.
