SSG: The occupation forces illegally detained one citizen of Georgia near the village of Mejvriskhevi, Gori municipality

The representatives of the occupying forces illegally detained a citizen of Georgia in the occupied territory near the village of Mejvriskhevi of the Gori municipality, the State Security Service reports.

According to them, upon receiving information about the mentioned incident, the State Security Service activated the hotline operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission. The international partners and the co-chairs of the international discussions in Geneva were immediately informed about the illegal detention of a Georgian citizen in the occupied territory.

As they report, all available mechanisms have been activated to release the illegally detained Georgian citizen as soon as possible.

"Responsibility for all destructive actions committed on the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line, rests with the occupying power," reads the statement.
