The protest in Georgia was against the clear, understandable bill, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a conversation with journalists during his visit to Uzbekistan.

"The attitude of the West towards this or that leadership was clearly shown when there were protests in Moldova against the pro-Western course of the President and the government, protests against ignoring the interests of economic development. The West condemned this almost as an attempt to overthrow the legitimate government; at the same time, protests in Georgia were against a completely clear, understandable bill, according to which if you receive money from abroad and engage in social and political activities, you should declare where the money comes from," Lavrov said.

According to him, in case of Georgia's protest, the West actively supported them.
