Aslan Bzhania to Sergey Lavrov: Abkhaz people support Russia's "special operation on the territory of Ukraine”

We appreciate your decision to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with Aslan Bzhania, the so-called leader of occupied Abkhazia.

"We will actively promote the development of contacts with these two new states," Lavrov said.

Aslan Bzhania said that the Abkhaz people support Russia's "special operation on the territory of Ukraine."

"I would like to brief you on the processes that are taking place in Abkhazia today in connection with the special operation. The citizens of Abkhazia understand how important this is. We recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, we held rallies of many thousands, we organized two humanitarian events, we sent cargo to the people of these republics. Currently, more than 150 women and children from the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics are resting in Abkhazia. We are ready to assist the ministry of defence and special services," Bzhania said.

The meeting between Sergey Lavrov and Aslan Bzhania was held in Moscow.
