CNN: Ukrainian forces have pushed Russian invaders back on the front lines east of Kyiv

A senior US defense official said Ukrainian forces have pushed Russian invaders back on the front lines east of Kyiv, reports CNN.
As the official told the agency, one month into the war, Russia is now taking defensive positions northwest of capital Kyiv.
According to the official, Russian forces are about 55 kilometers from Kyiv’s city center to the east, which is an increase of between 25 and 35 kilometers compared to the same location a day earlier.
To the northwest, the Russians are “digging in, and they are establishing defensive positions,” the official told CNN.
