Russian forces enter Kharkiv

Russian forces have entered the second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv, BBC reports, citing local authorities.

Kharkiv regional administration head Oleg Sinegubov said Russian light military equipment had a breakthrough in the city.

"Do not leave the shelters! The Ukrainian Armed Forces are destroying the enemy. We ask the civilian population not to take to the streets," Oleg Sinegubov said.

Oleg Sinegubov called on residents to stay in shelters and said Russian troops seemed to be in the city center.
