Sergei Lavrov says Russia sees further enlargement of NATO as the crossing of the "red line"

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russia sees further enlargement of NATO as the crossing of the "red line".

"We did not discuss hypothetical scenarios regarding Georgia's forced membership into the North Atlantic Alliance, including against the will of a large part of its population," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, said after meeting with the so-called 'foreign ministers' of Georgia's Russia-occupied regions.

According to him, Russia's proposal to create security guarantees shows that "Russia is sincerely interested in preventing a negative development according to the scenario set by some NATO strategies."
