Jens Stoltenberg: The Alliance remains committed to the decision made at the Bucharest Summit and also remains committed to providing political and practical support to Georgia and Ukraine

"Ukraine and Georgia are among NATO's closest partners, contributing to NATO missions and operations and aspiring to join the Alliance," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at the opening of a meeting of the North Atlantic Council, where Georgian and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers Davit Zalkaliani and Dmytro Kuleba are also participating.

"The Alliance remains committed to the decision made at the Bucharest Summit and also remains committed to providing political and practical support to Georgia and Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.

He stressed that at a summit in Brussels in June, NATO members expressed strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine.
