The 102nd meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) has ended in the village of Ergneti, Gori Municipality.

According to the State Security Service, during the meeting, the central government strongly raised the issues of illegal so-called illegal borderization, illegal detentions and illegal restrictions on free movement.

They also discussed all incidents along the occupation line and in the occupied territories that complicate the security environment on the ground.

As the representative of the State Security Service Irakli Antadze noted, the main focus was on the facts of illegal detention of our fellow citizens and the borderization process.

"We discussed each specific example according to the cases. The position was principally voiced. As a result of the occupation, many families were left without arable land. The villages lost their lands and their economic well-being was endangered.

As for the illegally detained persons, Genadi Bestaev and Gela Gochoshvili, this issue was also raised, we requested additional information about his whereabouts and status. According to the information at our disposal, he is accused of illegally crossing the so-called border.

As for Genadi Bestaev, this issue was also raised in principle and attention was paid to the fact that illegally detained Genadi Bestaev has been in so-called pre-trial detention for more than 14 months, which goes beyond any logic. Of course, we demanded his release", - Irakli Antadze said.

As Irakli Antadze noted, consultations on the issue of releasing illegally detained citizens will continue through the hotline. In addition, the consultations will continue in the framework of the next round of international discussions in Geneva to return all our illegally detained compatriots to their families.
