NATO Summit opens in Brussels

The NATO Summit has been opened in Brussels and is being attended by the leaders of 30 NATO member states.

At the opening of the summit, the Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, said that today the world is facing many challenges and no country alone can overcome these challenges.

"We are meeting at a very important time for our alliance. In a period of geopolitical competition, regional instability, cyberattacks and climate change. No country or continent can respond to these challenges alone. But Europe and North America are not alone. We stand together in NATO," he said.
