A large-scale protest is taking place on Freedom Square in Yerevan, - reports local media.

According to the same sources, the square is crowded with protesters. The demonstrators are chanting: "Nikol the traitor!". Law enforcers are trying to make the protesters leave the Freedom Square.

For the record, the Council of 17 parties of Armenia announced that a protest rally would be held in Yerevan today. The citizens are protesting against the announcement of the end of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh, which was signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, together with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The protests started as soon as Nikol Pashinyan publicly announced the signing of the document. Demonstrators stormed government and parliament buildings yesterday. Several of them attacked the speaker of parliament and physically assaulted him. Ararat Mirzoyan was taken to hospital with various injuries. According to the Armenian edition Politik.am, Nikol Pashinyan was in the US embassy building during the riot.
