Russian journalist seeks asylum in Georgia

Russian journalist Yuri Izotov has applied for asylum to the Georgian authorities.

Izotov claims that he is the victim of a political persecution in Russia.

"I understand perfectly well that they can at any time put me on the list of wanted people based on fabricated evidence,” Izotov said.

Ekho Kavkaza has reported that the Russian journalist left the country in 2016. Earlier, Ukraine rejected Izotov’s application for asylum.
