Former Mayor of Moscow, capital city of Russia, Yuri Luzhkov has died at the age of 83, Russian media reports.

Reportedly, Yuri Luzhkov died in Europe. No further details are known so far.

Yuri Luzhkov was appointed as the mayor of Moscow by Russian President Boris Yeltsin in 1992. He served as the mayor until 2010.
