As he noted, within the framework of the Assembly, they have the opportunity to meet with representatives of 130 countries, and bilateral meetings are also planned.
"Today we had a meeting with the Speaker of the Israeli Parliament. Of course, first of all, we talked about the security challenges that are in our region. We talked about the situation in Israel, in Gaza. In this regard, we all support the return of the kidnapped people home as soon as possible and the conflict that exists to end soon.
The Speaker of the Israeli Parliament expressed his attitude to these issues against the background of the special support of the new American administration, that these issues will be resolved. Of course, we talked about the region as a whole, about the ongoing war in Ukraine. About the impact of this security environment on Georgia and how important cooperation and mutual support between Georgia and Israel are in order to regulate security issues. Of course, in this regard, we also talked about the new administration of the United States of America and cooperation with the new administration, with whom, as the Israeli government, we also share the same visions relating to value. Just like the Israeli government, we were also talking about the issues that the new administration is not only talking about today, but also making decisions to change certain harmful instruments and institutions. In this regard, I had a conversation with the Speaker of the Israeli Parliament, that both countries have similar experience and similar satisfaction, that the approaches of the new American administration in terms of relations with other countries have changed, and both the Israeli government and we see this,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel. The meeting was held within the framework of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
