Mikheil Kareli: The war was Mikheil Saakashvili's greatest adventure – he is mentally ill and is still dangerous today – I had a feeling that in a past life, I was Hitler's assistant

The war was one of Mikheil Saakashvili's greatest adventures – he is a mentally dangerous person, mentally ill, and I believe he is still dangerous today. I will honestly tell you, I have always had the feeling that somewhere far away, in a past life, I was Hitler's assistant.

This was stated by Mikheil Kareli, the former presidential representative in Shida Kartli, during a phone call at the temporary investigative commission of the Parliament.

It is noteworthy that the issue being discussed at the meeting is the situation created on the occupied territories of Georgia between 2004-2008 and the August 2008 war.

As Mikheil Kareli mentioned at the meeting, he is ready to answer any questions from the commission if there are additional questions for him.

"Recently, Saakashvili became so obsessed with being in power that he could no longer listen to any differing opinions, which irritated him so much that he would lose his composure. I told you that once I saw him in an affective state, and for a person, you don’t need to have the highest medical education to diagnose if someone is mentally ill, in the full sense of the word. Back then, I also wrote a resignation letter; he called me in, tore the letter up, and, in a crazed state, threw it around his office and warned me that if I ever did that again, he knew where he would send me. By the way, based on these relationships, I’ve told Okruashvili many times that one day the day would come when I would end up in prison because his actions had already become absolutely unacceptable to me, and I no longer had any obligation to tolerate this. Despite that, I still couldn’t avoid this tragedy. I couldn’t even imagine what awaited my family and loved ones after all this.

Of course, he couldn’t stand that I supported the opposition and the protest movement and immediately gave the order to arrest me. First, they took me to the Ortachala prison, where I was physically beaten. They left me in a concrete room for four days. They demanded that I testify against Okruashvili, and when they couldn’t get it, they became more and more brutal. Then, Okruashvili was also arrested. You remember Okruashvili’s disgraceful testimony. Since he couldn’t get what he wanted from me, he transferred all the pressure to my family members, to my elderly relatives. They took away all the property registered in my parents’ name. Separately, it’s a topic how legally this was packaged," Mikheil Kareli said.

According to him, they tried to expel his parents from their home, and this fact faced resistance from the neighborhood in the village.

"They couldn’t manage this because their neighbors, the village, opposed them, and eventually, this war, which was one of his greatest adventures – during the war, my house, where I was born and raised, built by my grandfather, was burned down and completely destroyed. That’s why I say that he is a mentally dangerous person, mentally ill, and I think he is still dangerous today. Honestly, I have always had the feeling that somewhere far away, in a past life, I was Hitler's assistant," Mikheil Kareli concluded.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
