Mikheil Kavelashvili has appointed Manuchar Kakochashvili as a member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia for a four-year term. Mikheil Kavelashvili’s press service has released the relevant information.
As stated in the information, Mikheil Kavelashvili “made a decision to annul the illegal legal act and appoint Manuchar Kakochashvili to the position of a member of the High Council of Justice.”
“On June 21, 2024, former President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, by the decree of July 15, 2024, appointed Kakha Tsikarishvili as a member of the High Council of Justice. The decision was appealed to the Tbilisi City Court by the candidate participating in the competition.
As a result of a thorough review of the materials in the case, it was clearly revealed that the appointment of Kakha Tsikarishvili as a member of the High Council of Justice was carried out with procedural violations provided for by the legislation. Accordingly, the court satisfied Manuchar Kakochashvili’s lawsuit.
As a result of receiving complete information about the candidates participating in the announced competition and conducting interviews, within the framework of the powers granted by the legislation, the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili made a decision to appoint Manuchar Kakochashvili as a member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia,” reads the information released by Kavelashvili's press service.
