The Georgian regime is an example of the internal seizure of the state by the Kremlin, and this could also happen to EU members if we do not stop this infection in time, said MEP Rasa Juknevičienė, the European Parliament’s permanent rapporteur on Georgia, said at the meeting of the European People’s Party.

Paata Manjgaladze: Sanctions are in place and will continue – no one else will do what we must do, nor can they

"No one else will do what we must do, nor can they," stated Paata Manjgaladze, General Secretary of Strategy Aghmashenebeli.

According to Manjgaladze, continuous protests are of great importance, while actions by Western partners are being observed and will continue to be noted in the future.

"After the elections, the initial results were overwhelming and brazenly fabricated by the Georgian Dream. Gradually, we faced the threat, found strength within ourselves, refused to accept it, and began organizing resistance and protests without knowing how many of us were prepared to stand or for how long, or how Europe and the U.S. would react to this total falsification and injustice.

We all understood that if we accepted this injustice or responded in a typical way—protesting for a few days and then dispersing—the reaction of our partners would also be typical. But we also knew that no one else would or could do what was necessary.

Thus, the only proper response was relentless and uncompromising protest, which naturally brought us to the current reality—clarity on previously unknown factors at the beginning of the protests:

  • How many of us are truly ready to stand in the streets? The answer: hundreds of thousands.
  • How long can we stand? The answer: a long time—until victory.
  • What will be our partners' reaction? Not a single established democracy recognizes the Georgian Dream as a legitimate government.
  • Will there be sanctions? They exist now, and there will be more.

Now, the main question: Will we win? Yes, if we believe and persist in protesting.

The path to victory is protest, refusal to comply, and more protest!" Manjgaladze declared.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
