"The Georgian people are demonstrating their undeniable commitment to democratic values and a European future. The European Union will not abandon them," stated Dubravka Šuica, European Commission Vice President for Democracy and Demography, during a debate in the European Parliament on Georgia. Šuica delivered this statement on behalf of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
"We will strengthen our support for civil society and independent media to ensure they can continue their work during this critical period. We will also improve communication further. What we are doing here today from this panel is sending a message. We must send the Georgian people a strong message of support and the EU's unwavering commitment. At the same time, we need to underline to Georgian Dream the cost of its actions," Šuica emphasized.
